• Rachel Collett debuts her sophomore series, 'The Blood Descent Series' with the fantastic fantasy novel 'Of Blood and Deceit'. The story tells of a teenage girl named Ilianna, who flees her kingdom to escape her abusive uncle, the King, only to be captured by a neighboring kingdom and the prince to whom she was betrothed.
  
  I think the biggest strength of this novel is the characters. Each character is well developed, interesting, and unique. Illiana, while strong-willed and capable, still has faults that cause her to make poor decisions, requiring her to grow. Prince Castiel is a personal favorite, not only because he's charming and hunky, but also because he challenges Illiana and sees through the wall she exudes. I also love the idea of a servant king a king who works side by side in the fields with the people. It's a nice element that makes this world stand out.
  
  I enjoyed Rachel's first series, the 'Personal Demons series', but I feel Rachel's writing, world building, and character development has improved greatly in this second attempt. I'm eagerly awaiting the second novel and will pre-order it as soon as it's ready. Do yourself a favor and buy this book!
• Of Blood and Deceit written by Rachel Collet is a magical story that covers lonliness, life, and love . Due to the vividness imagination of the author I couldn't put this book down. I enjoyed the awakening of Princess Iliana and the blossoming friendship and romance with her Prince. She has so much hidden inside and she needs to explore her newfound love and life. Rachel captures and facinates me with another amazing book. I am so excited that I can hardly wait for the next book! If you enjoyed the Personal Demons triology you are sure to love this book too! • What i love about this author is that her writing is so vivid and descriptive you feel as though you are transported into the actual story and time of the book. Characters leap out of the pages and you cannot help but fall in love with them all, be it their honor, mad fighting skills, their evil but brilliant cunning minds, the ethereal goddesses and the rugged drool worthy men. Her writing really hits a chord within everyone that they can relate to. I am always impressed by the plot twists and unexpected ways characters evolve and change. Most books are super predictable where as Collett leaves you on the edge of your seat. It's impressive the amount of research the author does for her books, if you follow her on Instagram or Facebook she is out there grappling and fighting with train people to understand how to write a scene that's real, traveling internationally to places that inspire worlds within her story. Rachel Collett not only writes because she is good but seems to have a great passion for what she writes about. I am so excited to see where this new series takes us as readers and what will unfold in the coming chapters. Definitely a rising star, and a huge fan of her work.
• This book! There were several times other obligations forced me to put this book down, but it gave me time to savor the story. The range of characters was beautifully done, balanced with a variety of hero/heroine and villian. The twists were unexpected and so well done. I cannot wait to read more!

• This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I really enjoyed it. I didn’t see any of the twists and turns coming and loved both main characters. Supporting characters really added to the story as well. It wrapped things up at the almost end, which I liked, and then opened up a new can of worms for the next book. Not exactly a cliff-hanger, but there’s definitely rough waters ahead. I can’t wait to read the next book!
• I thoroughly enjoyed this high-stakes, high-energy novel. The dialogue was great, and loved the quips and barbs between some of the characters. There were a few twists and surprises in this book, and I loved that. Sometimes I would find myself reading with my mouth wide open in shock.
  
  The last line of the book was the best! Right on, sister!
• Of Blood and Deceit is another great book from Rachel Collett! Each book of hers that I've read just captivates me. Especially this magical story, I didnt want it to end. I loved the characters and the exciting storyline. I cant put this book down. I can hardly wait for the next one!!
