Conversational Italian Dialogues Over 100 Italian Conversations and Short Stories Conversational Italian Dual Language Books Vol 1 Italian Edition eBook Lingo Mastery Reviews

  • I love learning new languages and mingling with local people while traveling the world. I’ve picked up this book, hoping to learn some basic Italian to break the ice with the locals on my upcoming trip to Italy.

I like that this book focuses on common situations such as “The Tourist Information Office” or “Train Tickets,” which non-Italian tourists are likely to incur. I also like the repetition of common words and phases in various contexts; I remember more by repeating. The English equivalents of Italian phrases help me effortlessly understand their colloquial meanings; for example, “meno male” means either “thank goodness” or “great.”

I wish to see an accompanying audio version of this book that would help me retain new Italian words and phases; conversational goes hand-in-hand with audible.

Overall, this book helps me tremendously in my ongoing journey into conversational Italian.
  • I have been taking Italian lessons for the past seven months, with a private tutor (insegnante). While we have concentrated on grammar for the most part, we started with pronunciation, and we have both felt that I need to speak and hear the language more in order to "get it".

This has been the one deficiency, not actually speaking Italian a whole lot. I saw this book, and thought, perfect, I can read the dialogs out loud and look up words I'm not sure of the pronunciation. After it arrived I took it to class one day, and la mia insegnanate absolutely loved it. We role play, and she takes one character and I do the other (and switch) and not only do I speak a lot more, and a lot more correctly,, but the thing she really loved was being able to show me all the things we've been learning, the pronouns (especially, as these can be difficult), the expressions, etc., in action.

The dialogs are not that complicated, I know a lot of words already, and she liked that. She also teaches me what things mean really, in Italy (she is from Padova, near Venezia). The book has added a whole new dimension to our classes. We spend time every class doing a new dialog, sometimes if there is an abundance of teaching moments in the dialog (as there often is) we might spend parts of two classes on one dialog.

I have bought a number of Learn Italian books. And this one is by far the best. If you are really trying to learn to speak Italian, buy this book (I have both the and paperback- the is good because you can highlight passages and paste them into Google and hear how words are pronounced (highly recommended)).

This has accelerated my learning, and made all the grammar rules make much more sense. Answering questions at the end of a chapter of a learning book is fine, but this book puts all the grammar rules to practical use, with normal conversations.

    It's great. Super recommended.
  • I received this book this morning and just thumbing through it looks very helpful in learning Italian. I like grammar but need to know how to use it and this book helps! Thanks Lingo!
  • We don't study a language to be able to read it. We study a language to be able to speak it. This book provides useful examples for understanding dialogue and conversation. Speaking with another person and understanding what is being said.
  • I'm always looking for ways to practice and improve my Italian. This book was a great find. It's packed with practical dialogues and information you can incorporate into your everyday conversations.
  • The book had some very interesting stories, and was a good way to refresh my rusty Italian. It should help my upcoming trip to Venice.
  • I loved the book. It was informative. I learned a lot. I would highly recommend it!!!
  • I like the “pre-selected” common conversations one is likely to encounter. These allow you to practice conversations so you can prepare for real situations.
